Bonjour à tous, je recherche quelqu'un parlant bien anglais, étant inscrit sur le Great War Forum et qui accepterait d'y écrire un message pour moi.
Il s'agit d'une recherche sur un soldat.
Cordialement et merci d'avance,
Gilles.

Re: demande d'aide pour une recherche
Gilles,
I think it says : M Walsh 1st Siege Bty RGA 27/9/1914
1st Siege Battery RGA went out to Western Front 19th Sept 1914 on the SS Armenian, from Devonport to St Nazaire, (embarked on the 17th) equipped with 4 x 6 in howitzers (30 cwt).
Fired their first round on the 24th September from a position 300 yds East of Chavonne Bridge. Also their first casualty is buried in Braine CC, both events near the Chemin des Dames.
I think M Walsh is Gunner 1st SB RGA (28819) Enlisted 11/04/1908. Qualifying date 17/09/1914. Discharged 1/03/1919. SWB 17/04/1920 Dover BWM VM. Clasp and Roses.
I’m now tring to find out where he came from,
Kind regards
Bob
