Many years ago, I found a folder of photographic negatives from what appeared to be a young man's travels in Europe. There were negatives photographed in England and mainland Europe, maybe 100 negatives total in a medium sized format.
From time to time I have attempted to find out more information about the story of the photographer's travel from the little details I could find in the photographs.
In my search for the ship name Lutetia, I found this forum, and thought you may find the following photographs interesting - and maybe provide a little context.
As you can see, one photograph seem to be taken on the ship Lutetia and displays other ships in the harbour (St. Nazaire or ...?).
I imagine the photo overlooking the soldiers on the harbour is taken from Lutetia.
And the last photo with the Senegalese (?) soldiers is probably taken in front of Lutetia.
I would love to hear any comments or thoughts about location, date, circumstances etc.
Cheers
