Re: Problem with a Croix de Guerre

There is a problem regarding my Grandfather's Croix de Guerre.
The citation for his Croix de Guerre is at Regimental level yet the single star on the ribbon is not a bronze star but a silver one.
It may be that the wrong star was fixed to the ribbon when the Croix de Guerre was awarded.
However, my elder brother recalls two stars being on the ribbon at one point which suggests that my Grandfather may have received two citations, one at Regimental and one at Divisional level.
My Grandfather Charles Moucan was part of the 4eme Regiment de Tirailleurs Algeriens during the war.
Do the Divisional citations for the Croix de Guerre awarded to the 4eme Regiment de Tirailleurs Algeriens during the first world war still exist and if so, am I able to look at them to see whether my Grandfather did indeed receive a citation at Divisional level ?
