As Benoît Giraudier was born in the "département" of Rhône, the best you should do is contact the archives whose address and email are as follow:

In your request, just explain what you are looking for, i.e. the war record of that soldier, which is called "états de service" in French. I must add that knowing when he was born would tremendously ease the archivist's task (as it would give a clue about the time when he was drafted).
