The "Thais" LR.1948 was built in 1910-11 by J. Duthie at Aberdeen for Georges Chauvet, La Rochelle. 1911 sold to Delmas Frères, not renamed. 1913 sold to Chevalier & Cie., La Rochelle, not renamed. In the same year sold again to the first owner, Georges Chauvet, not renamed.
18.05.1915 requsitioned by the French Navy as minesweeper. 20.06.1915 handed over at Tarent to the Italian Navy, but stayed in French property. In Italian service as "Rondine" 01.07.15.
14.04.17 sold to the Italian Navy and 12.05.17 formally derequisioned by the French Navy.
15.07.23 stricken by the Italian Navy. Sold commercially.
Lloyd's Register 1930 lists her as Italian "Giovanna", Soc. Anon. Pesca Italica, Genoa. 1934 sold to Sebastiano Gambino fu Giuseppe, Catania. 1935 sold to Soc. Anon. Industria Pesca Italiana, Genoa, and renamed "Taurinia". 1936 sold to Cia. Generale Italiana della Grande Pesca, Genoa, and renamed "Axum". Homeport later changed to Livorno.
"Axum" became an early victim of the Second World War. During a naval bombardement of Bardia by the cruiser "Capetown" and the destroyers "Ilex", "Imperial", "Janus" and "Juno" she was struck and sunk 06.07.1940.
The first part of the history thanks to Charles Limonier, 125 ans Delmas-Vieljeux, TomeII: les filiales. But while he has only a picture of a trawler of the type of "Thais", I can now show a picture of "Thais" herself:

and here a closeup of the "Thais" taken from this postcard:
