Bonjour,
À l'occasion de l'anniversaire du torpillage du Longwy, quelques fleurs ont été déposées au pied de la stèle, par des descendants de marins, des Écossais et le Consulat de France à Édimbourg.
Les bénévoles écossais de l'association mémorielle Girvan and District Great War Project se réjouissent que ce monument soit régulièrement fleuri et que l’on se souvienne désormais de ces marins français morts au champ d’honneur, bien loin de leur pays. Ce nouveau monument est systématiquement présenté lors des visites des tombes militaires organisées pendant les journées du souvenir. Il est entretenu avec un soin méticuleux.
On the anniversary of the torpedoing of the Longwy, flowers were laid at the foot of the new memorial, with wreaths provided by descendants of sailors, local Scots, and the French Consulate in Edinburgh.
The volunteers of Girvan and District Great War Project are pleased that the monument is regularly adorned with flowers and that the French sailors who died far from home are remembered. It is now a standard stop on any war graves talk or tour and it is maintained with great care.
