je recherche des renseignements sur un regiment d infanterie des Etats unis le 330 RI et plus particulierement le 2 eme bataillon de ce regiment
celui ci a été dans mon village Teloche 72220 pendant six mois
une plaque placée sur la Mairie en fait memoire

"les officiers et les hommes du 2eme bataillon du 330 eme régiment d infanterie de l armée des Etats Unis cantonnes pendant 6 mois a Teloche ont appose cette plaque en reconnaissance de la bienveillance des habitants
le 25 decembre 1918"

Voici ce que je peux dire sur le 330th Inf. de la 83rd Division en stationnement dans la région du Mans. Elle servait de Division Dépôt

MOVEMENT OVERSEAS, MAY 24-JUNE 28, 1918
May 24, Div moves via Camps Merritt and MiIIs to the ports of embarkation of Boston, Hoboken, New York, and Philadelphia. June 4, Adv Det sails from New York and lands June 11, in England. June 4-14, the troops sail and land, June 15-28, in England. After a brief stay in rest camps, the Div goes to Le Havre and Cherbourg.
ACTIVITIES OVERSEAS, JUNE 19, 1918-JAN 8, 1919
June 19, DHQ, 331st Inf, and 332d Inf move to the 8th (Nogent-en-Bassigny) Training Area. July 1, 329th Inf, 330th Inf, the machine gun battalions, 308th F Sig Bn, and 308th Sup Tn move to Le Mans Area. June 27, Div is designated as a Depot Div. The 332d Inf, 158th PA Brig, 308th Am Tn, 308th Engrs, 308th F Sig Bn, 308th TM Btry, and 308th Sn Tn are detached and serve as army and corps troops. July 2-10, training of divisional units in the 8th (Nogent-en-Bassigny) Training Area is supervised by the IV Corps. July 30, Div (less detached units) concentrates in Le Mans Area. Aug 1, Div begins to function as the 2d Depot Div. During its existence 195,221 replacements, officers and men, drawn from personnel from the United States and casuals at large, are trained for the infantry, including machine gun units, ammunition trains and supply trains, and are forwarded to the advance zone. Aug 12, 49th Inf joins the Div, replacing the detached 332d Inf. The Ecommoy Area, the city of Le Mans, the Forwarding Camp, the Belgian Camp, the Classification Camp, and the Spur Camp gradually come under the control of this 2d Depot Div. Its district is divided into the following five areas for administrative purposes : La Suze (33 1st Inf), LaignB-en-Belin (330th Inf), Ecommoy (329th Inf), Conlie (49th Inf), and Mayet (the three machine gun battalions). During Ott there is a maximum of 45,000 troops in the area. Dee 15-31, the American Embarkation Center, an organization which is formed at this time, relieves the 2d
Depot (83d) Div.

Vous avez raison. Je ne sais pas pour-quoi j'avais pensee que le 330 etait Afro-Americains. Mais pourtant je n'ai pas pu trouver un 330 RI...
