Le seul sous-marin qui pourrait s'être trouvé dans les parages de VIRGINIE le 11 Février 1918 est l'U 53 du Kptlt Hans ROSE.

hm, not U 53, she just reported hearing the SOS from VIRGINIE "from the Biscaya" and from S.S. KNIGHT OF THE GARTER south of Start Point, but was not responsible for the attack!
I haven't seen the war diaries for every U-Boat in the Atlantic and Channel, so at the moment I don't know which U-Boat might have been seen by VIRGINIE ...
